On Tuesday, November 22, the CPJ will present this year’s International Press Freedom Award, recognizing reporters who have taken great risks and faced grave challenges in doing their jobs, to imprisoned photojournalist 穆罕默德·阿布·扎伊德, also known as Shawkan.

Shawkan因三年前报道开罗的暴力政治冲突而被拘留。 He also was one of 13 imprisoned journalists who were the focus of a grassroots campaign called 新闻Uncuffed, created 通过 students at the University of Maryland and their professor, Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Dana Priest, and backed 通过 the CPJ. The bracelets are still being 出售, and 100 percent of the proceeds goes to supporting the CPJ in its quest.
